Effect of Different Concentrations of Chavir on Blood Defensive Cells and Some Immune Factors in Rain bow trout

Objectives: Ferulago angulata (known in Iran as Chavir) grows in west of Iran such as mountains of Kermanshah and is one of the important herbal medicine in native people in west of Iran. In this study effects of Ferulago angulata extract on Defensive cells and of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were evaluated. Materials Methods: A basal diet was supplemented with 0 (control), 0.5, 1, and 2 g.kg_1 to F. angulata and was randomly allocated to experiment fish with an initial average weight of 7.45 ± 0.02g. Fish were hand-fed at 3–5% body weight in 4 times at 07:00, 11:00, 15:00 and 19:00 h. Results  Conclusion: there were significant increase in white blood cells, lymphocyte, neutrophil and monocyte Ferulago angulata extract groups (P 0.05). Also there were significant differences between immunoglobulin M, lysozyme, in fish fed with dietary Ferulago angulata extract in compared with control group (P 0.05). These finding suggest that administration Ferulago angulata extract has positive effect on immune system activity in rainbow trout.
