A systematic review of Ochratoxin A in different food of Iran

Objectives: Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a toxic metabolite that produced by of Penicillium Spp. and Aspergillus Spp. These mould growth increased in abuse adequate moisture and temperature in storage time and produced mycotoxins. The aim of this study was the evaluation of Ochratoxin A in different kind of food with reviews of other studies in Iran, 2000 to 2015.Materials and Methods: In this systematic review study, searched the literature published up to 2015 in English and Persian language. The literature evaluated by searching the electronic databases of the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR), PubMed, SID, Science Direct and Google scholar. We also screened, reference lists manually. The selection criteria were presence of OchratoxinA in different kind of food in the food cycle of humans. In the present study, 26 articles were analyzed.Results Conclusion: Based on obtained results, the breakfast cereal, hazelnut, pistachio nuts, walnut, rice, white pepper, dried sour cherry, dried peaches and dried pineapple were not contaminated to OTA. In the conducted studies, the highest rate of the contamination to OTA were in grape juices, raisins, bread, milk and beans. With attention to high consumption of the above food in society, OTA should be considered caused create a serious threat for public health. Therefore, it seems necessary that attention to reduce mould contamination and OTA in different kind of food.,
