Objective: The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the effect of sodium and potassium humates to remove Aflatoxins B1 (AFB1) and Ochratoxin a (OTA) from rumen fluid. Materials Method: Four humates samples including No 1) sodium humate (20% humic acid); No 2) sodium humate (60% humic acid); No 3) potassium humate and No 4) Turkish sodium humate was were prepared and their abilities to adsorb AFB1 and OTA from rumen fluid were studied as a randomized complete block (RCB) design with three replication. Briefly, 5 mg of humate was added to 10 ml 20% rumen fluid that had been supplemented with standard AFB1 (1 ppm) or OTA (2 ppm). After 2 hours incubation on shaker incubator at 39 and darkness, the non-adsorbed toxin was extracted by liquid-liquid extraction method and then detected by High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC). Result Conclusion: The results showed that all humate samples could significantly remove AFB1 from rumen fluid. However, the humates No 1 and No 2 exhibited the strongest activity to sequester AFB1 by 85.6% and 82.7% respectively. In addition, the lowest AFB1- binder activity was found in potassium humate No 3 by 33.12%. Unfortunately, the absorption of OTA by humate samples was not significant. Finally, we demonstrated that some sodium humates have a great potential to sequester AFB1 from rumen fluid and ultimately reduce its effects on animals
