THE ROLE OF ENVIRONMENT STRUCTURE IN NATURAL LANGUAGE GENERATING ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Description of a place or a fixed event could be known as a presentation of some phrases about the visual characteristics of that place or event. If we consider a route as a set of components or contiguous places between a specific origin and destination, “route description can be defined as “a complex of used phrases to show how to reach a certain destination from a specific origin with the help of introduction or description of environmental components of that route”. It is very difficult to describe a route without paying attention to components or environmental characteristics of the route. Therefore the purpose of this research is to discuss the role of environment structure in route description in natural language. It is obvious that this role depends on other factors such as the level of a person’s acknowledgement from that environment as well. In this paper, first, all of the impactful and important environmental components and then, descriptive phrases used by generality of people in order to describe a route will be extracted. After that each of the components and useful descriptive phrases in researching will be discussed and explained in full depth.
