Full-duplex (FD) communications have recently been considered as a technology evolution for the fifth-generation (5G) network that can double the network capacity. In this paper, we study the power allocation problem in the FD small cell network based on non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) protocol. In the FD communication, the base station and multiple users are equipped with FD radios, which are able to simultaneously send and receive information signals over the same frequency band. For maximizing the spectral and energy efficiency of the FD system, two non-convex power allocation optimization problems are formulated and solved by using the successive convex approximation (SCA) approach and non-linear fractional programming technique. Then, two iterative power allocation algorithms are proposed with local convergence. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides a better performance compared to the traditional half duplex (HD) scheme.
