In this research Mg-doped TiO2 nanopowders were synthesized by the sol–gel method. The Mg-
TiO2 photo-catalyst was prepared using Titanium tetra-iso propoxide and Magnesium sulfate as
the dopant precursors. Rhodamine B, Nonylphenol ethoxylates 6 mol, Pseudoephedrine
hydrochlorid, and Nicotine were used to study the photocatalytic performance of the Mg doped
TiO2 under UV irradiation. The synthesized samples were characterized by x-ray diffraction, xray
photoelectron spectroscopy, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron
spectroscopy (XPS) and Photoluminescence (PL). The photocataltic degradation show that after
60, 90, 120, and 120 of irradiation time with UV light, 99%, 98%, 98% and 98% of rhodamine B,
Nonylphenol ethoxylates 6 mol, Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, and Nicotine were decomposed
by Mg-doped TiO2 sample, respectivly.
