Dense urban environments provide a complex settlement, where solar availability and urban daylight can become a scarce commodity, especially since buildings become increasingly taller like in Tehran. Height of buildings makes daylight one of the most important issues in architectural design. The design seeks to make buildings receive more direct sunlight within the limits of the user’s comfort and simultaneously save energy and space. Moreover photovoltaic (PV) systems can be subject to complex shading patterns too. The study of the shadows projected by nearby buildings and other elements around a PV surface permits cutting down energy losses. This paper with simulation present principals for controlling high rise buildings’ shading with distance between them and use reflective materials to improve the performance of PV and checks that if its efficiency will increase.
