This paper presents analytical study of sandwich beam linear vibration with transversely flexible core under
moving mass. In this kind of loading, the effects of moving massʹs inertia also should be considered. In order to model
sandwich beam, three-layer wise theory is used for analytical study of vibration of sandwich beam. Classical theory is
used for face-sheets and linear polynomial displacement field theory is used for core. Governing equations of vibration
are obtained using Hamilton’s principle. Modal superposition method used to derive ordinary differential equation of
motion in matrix form. Fourth order Runge-Kutta method applied to solving the ODE with time varying coefficients.
The aim of this paper is to examine core factors such as transverse flexibility (Ez, Gxz) that have an effect on structural
reaction of sandwich beam under moving mass.
