We have all experienced the listening to the bedtime stories told by our parents especially our grandmothers in our childhood, and still remember the memories, feeling the influence of the stories on our adulthood and finally our life. This study deals with the characteristics of oral narration in Old Persian bedtime stories and the original affections they have on our characters. The most substantial consequences include didacticism, tranquility and cultural affiliation. In each category, the reasons and cause-and-effect relations are evaluated to support the title and prove the advantages of the tradition of oral narration, i.e. telling nighttime stories for children.
