Media, especially TV, play a significant role in transmitting the corresponding ideology to the world. Generally speaking, interpretation of political debate is also influenced by ideology of dominant power in that society. The aim of this research was to investigate the ideology behind the interpretation of the third presidential debate of Donald tramp and Hillary Clinton through critical discourse analysis (CDA). To this aim, the data were gathered from the interpreted video files of the two opposed news channel, BBC Farsi and Islamic republic of Iran News Channel. To analyze the data, Farahzad s model of CDA as well as Zauberga s theory of ideological manipulation was applied. The results revealed some ideological manipulation in Persian interpretation. According to Farahzad s CDA model, lexical choices were of the highest frequencies. Moreover, considering Zauberga s theory of ideological manipulation, substitution, deletion and addition were the most frequently applied strategies in transmitting the dominant ideological orientations in the target society.
