رنگ باختن مفهوم هويت درمعماري،ضعف درشهرسازي ورشد سرطاني شهرها،همه اين مسائل ريشه درفراموشي بنياني اساسي به نام روستا،كه سرمنشاءوالگوي معماري شهرهاست دارد.مسكن روستايي برخلاف مسكن شهري فقط محل سكونت واستراحت خانواده نيست،بلكه براساس اقليم والگوي معيشت خانواده شكل مي گيرد.از اين روشناخت وضع موجودمسكن اولين وحياي ترين رويكرد درفرايند طراحي معماري روستايي به شمار مي رود.ناپايداري ساختمان هاي مسكوني روستايي وتجزيه هاي تلخ حوادث غيرمترقبه درايران،ضرورت سازماندهي عملي وفني معماري مسكن مبتني برريشه هاي فرهنگي وزيست محيطي رابه يك ضرورت تبديل كرده وبنابراين گونه شناسي مساكن روستايي دراولويت قرارگرفته است.گونه وگونه شناسي ازمباحث مهم درمعماري دردوره معاصراست.شايد بتوان ازلحاظاهميت اين موضوع رادركنار دوموضوع مهم ديگر مباحث نظري معماري يعني فضاوشكل يافرم قراردادگونه وگونه شناسي حدود دويست سال است كه درعلوم گوناگون ازجمله معماري كاربرددارد.ودرسي سال گذشته تعدادقابل توجهي ازمحققين معماري به آن پرداخته اند.گونه وگونه شناسي سالهاست كه درايران كابرد داردودرباره اين موضوع گفتگو وبحث مي شودامبندرت وجوه مختلف آنتوضيح داده شده است.روستاي مورد مطالعه(روستاي ايرانق)ازتوابع شهرستان بستان آباد دراستان آذربايجان شرقي مي باشد.اين روستا يك روستاي كوهستاني و واقع درمنطقه سردسير است.
