Single point incremental forming (SPIF) which does not require any high capacity press machine and a set of
dies with certain shape, is an emerging sheet metal forming technology, capable of manufacturing complex parts at low
cost for small to medium-batch production. The usage, of bimetal sheets it is justified because of the addition of the
advantages offered by both materials of which it is composed and to a reduction of the disadvantages presented by each
material if taken separately. Springback phenomenon has been mentioned as one of the important geometrical and
dimensional aspects of sheet metal forming processes. In this paper, the SPIF of aluminum-steel bimetal sheet is
investigated by means of a numerical approach for calculating springback. A Finite Element (FE) model has been
developed and validated by comparison with SPIF of aluminum sheet data measured during the process which
published by others.
