In this paper, we use an active control technique to synchronize incommensurate nonidentical fractional–order Shimizu–Morioka and Chen systems. The numerical solution of the master, slave and error systems using nonstandard finite difference (NSFD) scheme show that the NSFD approach is easy to implement and accurate. It is observed that the synchronization can be achieved faster by increasing the system order.
