Writing is one of the four major skills in language learning to which due attention should be paid. The base for writing a good piece requires a great deal of attention and care on the side of the writer on one hand along with the knowledge to know how elements should be woven to one another to produce a meaningful context, on the other hand. One of the significant factors in holding the elements of a text together in order to give texture is using text-markers. It came to the researcher, therefore, to enquire the importance of these markers in maturing students writing ability through emphasizing these elements overtly in classroom teaching in Iranian culture. Therefore, this research article is going to investigate if there is a significant relation between teaching text markers and ability to write better. To have a reliable answer, after a treatment period, two experimental and control groups will be presented tests based upon cloze procedure and will be asked to fill the gaps. The result will reveal the effectiveness of teaching text markers to students in enhancing their awareness and sensitivity of discourse and consequently raising their writing ability.
