Demand Side Management (DSM) is highly considered in the smart power grid. Several DSM algorithms and programs have been proposed in this area. Some key features need to be addressed in these algorithms to achieve their aim in scheduling the load and decreasing the peak of the total load of the power grid. The optimality of the algorithm, fairness among the consumers who contribute in the DSM program and keeping the consumers’ privacy against the neighbors/electricity company are some of the features which have been discussed in the literature. In this paper, we look in the concept of Strategy-Proofness in the DSM algorithms in the literature. We review and categorize the DSM algorithms. Next, we discuss on the algorithms which are designed to prevent consumers from cheating versus some other algorithms in which a malicious consumer could benefit from cheating in the algorithm.
