اندازه گيري پروفايل قطبي عدد ماخ يوني در پلاسماي تخليۀ تابان گاز آرگون

Measurement of the polar profile of ion mach number in argon glow discharge plasma

پلاسماي تخليه تابان گاز آرگون در محفظه¬اي استوانه¬اي از جنس فولاد ضد زنگ 316، ايجاد شده و پروفايل قطبي عدد ماخ توسط دو عدد پروب ماخ دو وجهي عمود برهم كه يكي از آنها در راستاي شعاعي و ديگري در جهت قطبي مي-باشند، اندازه گيري شده است. پروب ها بر روي يك سيستم فيد تروي متحرك با قابليت حركت در دو بعد (ارتفاع و قطبي) در داخل محفظه نصب شده و تغييرات عدد ماخ در جهت شعاعي و قطبي در مقابل الكترود آند اندازه¬گيري مي-شود. نمودار¬هاي بدست آمده از اين آزمايش به وضوح بيانگر اختلاف در جهت شار يونهاي پلاسما و نهايتاً اعداد ماخ يوني، در قسمت¬هاي مختلف محفظه و اثر حضور آند مي باشد. همچنين وجود يك شار يوني چرخشي حول محور مركزي محفظه استوانه اي به وضوح مشاهده مي شود.

Argon glow discharge plasma was produced in a stainless steel cylindrical vessel and the polar profile of the ion mach number is measured by two double-faced mach probes. The two mach probes are mounted on a 2D movable feedthrough system which has ability to move along and rotate around the central axis of the chamber. The probes are aligned perpendicular to each other in order to measure the radial and azimuthal mach numbers, simultaneously. The probes are located at different angular positions at the same height as the position of the anode electrode inside the vessel and the corresponding radial and azimuthal mach numbers are measured. The obtained results clearly show rotation of plasma column around the central axis of the vessel. Also a distinct radial flux of ions is identified at the angular position of the anode.
