تهيه فيلم نازك سوسوزن سولفيد روي آلاييده با يون نقره (ZnS:Ag)

Preparation of a Thin Film of Silver-Activated Zinc Sulfide for Detection of Alpha Particles

در اين پژوهش پودر سولفيد روي آلاييده با نقره (ZnS:Ag)، كه در ابتدا مشخصات مرفولوژي، سايز ذرات، ويژگي¬هاي اپتيكي و ساختاري آن مطالعه گرديد، به صورت فيلم¬هاي نازكي با ضخامت¬هاي مختلف با روش اسپين كوتينگ بر روي زير لايه¬هاي پلكسي گلاس لايه‏نشاني شد. بازده شمارش ذرات آلفا و يكنواختي پاسخ اين فيلم نازك نسبت به ذرات آلفا مورد بررسي قرار گرفت. نتايج بدست آمده نشان داد بازده شمارش آلفا براي فيلم نازك تهيه شده حدود 80 درصد بازده صفحات تجاري سوسوزن سولفيد روي آلاييده با يون نقره (Eljen 440) است. روش ساخت فيلم در اين پژوهش مي¬تواند به عنوان يك روش عملي در ساخت فيلم¬هاي نازك سوسوزن سولفيد روي مورد استفاده قرار گيرد.

In this study, a thin film of silver-activated Zinc sulfide (ZnS:Ag) powder was prepared in order to detect Alpha Particles. Different thicknesses of these films were deposited on the Plexiglass substrate using the spin coating method. Scanning Electron Microscope was used to investigate morphology and particle size for the ZnS:Ag powder; Optical properties were studied using the absorption and photoluminescence (Pl) spectra. Additionally, the structural properties of this powder were investigated from their X-ray Diffraction (XRD) pattern. Here, the efficiency of counting the Alpha particles as well as the uniformity of those films were the subject of this study. The results obtained in this deposition method indicated that the efficiency of this film for the counting Alpha particles is around 80% in comparison with the commercial ZnS:Ag scintillator films (Eljen440). The presented method has the potential to be routinely used as a preparation method for scintillator films.
