مفاهيم نور و ظلمت در تاريخ زندگي بشر بسيار تأثيرگذار و در همۀ جوانب حيات وي مورد توجه بوده است. از آنجا كه مفاهيم كشف و شهودي عرفا در دايرۀ محدود واژگان نمي گنجد و به قول مولانا «لفظ در معنا هميشه نارسان» است، استفاده از نماد واژه هاي رنگ در وصف عواطف نفساني و دريافت هاي شخصي بسيار قابل توجه است. توجه به ماهيت هر رنگ مي تواند ساختار و تركيب متناسبي را ايجاد كند كه داراي زيبايي و معاني عرفاني و ديني باشد. بر اين اساس در اين تحقيق به كاربرد رنگ در اديان اشاره شده و جايگاه نمادهاي رنگي در هنر اسلامي با توجه به قرآن و احاديث مورد بررسي قرار گرفته است. در تحقيق حاضر با روش توصيفي– تحليلي و مطالعات كتابخانه اي به بيان مطلب پرداخته مي شود.

The concepts of light and darkness have been very influential in the history of human life and have been considered in all aspects of his life. Since the mysterious discovery and intuition of concepts are not included in the limited vocabulary circle, and in the words of Mowlana, the term is always false in meaning, the use of the color word symbol in the description of emotional feelings and personal receptions is very significant. Attention to the nature of each color can create an appropriate structure and composition that has aesthetic and mystical and religious meanings. Accordingly, in this research, the use of color in religions and the place of colored symbols in Islamic art have been investigated according to the Qur an and hadiths. In the present study, the descriptive-analytical method and library studies are discussed.
