INVESTIGATION ON BEHAVIOUR OF CONCRETE COLUMNS WITH WRAPPING TENSILE MEMBER

Because of the distinctive features of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) Or composites of concrete columns ,it is used as confinement of concrete columns and other concrete members. It is proved that confinement of concrete columns with FRP Increases strength and strain associated with it. fiber reinforced Polymer usually have a very high tensile strength that is more than tensile strength of steel and This prominent feature of FRP bars have made them very convenient for reinforced concrete structures , But they have lower comperessive strength . During a research have been shown that by wrapping the columns the stiffness increases And was effective in reducing ductility of concrete Members. Wrapping of concrete columns the strain is considerably reduced And also is effective in delaying the cracks and crack width reduction, arisen in benchmark columns without confinement . The main endeavoure of this paper is to examine the behavior of concrete columns with fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) as a method of wrapping.As well as some researches related to the behavior of square and circular fiber reinforced polymer concrete columns are mentioned under compressive forces . By this type of confinement, ductility and compressive strength of columns was enhanced . The specimens to be tested with more accuracy, more reliable results is extracted . on the whole The correct results of the behavior of concrete columns, leads to accurate and superb relations.
