Vibration Damping Optimization Algorithm

There is a useful connection between vibrations damping and combinatorial optimization. A detailed analogy with vibrations damping in mechanical vibration provides a framework for optimization (finding the minimum of a given objective function) of properties of large and complex problems. Vibration damping optimization (VDO) algorithm is a new metaheuristic and stochastic search method based on the concept of the vibration damping in mechanical vibration. In this article the vibration damping optimization (VDO) algorithm is briefly reviewed and the similarities between combinatorial optimization and VDO algorithm is showed.
