The effect of physical characteristicsin urban space enhance the social interaction and theuser-space in neighborhood center of Soltan MirAhmad,Kashan

The present study investigates the effect of spatial features of urban space on enhancing user-space to increase social interaction. In recent years the presence rate and occurrence in public places such as neighborhood centers have been noticed. This issue can have an important role in recognizing the social relations and environmental quality and noticing to social life and culture. The present study was done in the center of Sultan-Mirahmad neighborhood. Because of having spatial and identifying features, hierarchy of accessibility, different uses and various activities occurrence of daily life can be considered. To investigate spatial features, 50 available local residents and newcomers (tourists) were selected and a questionnaire was designed to do the survey. The Cronbach alpha validity came 0.75. Analyzing the data three factors were identified including legibility, complexity and accessibility with every factor having some sub-factors. Based on this study, a model can be compiled to show these three factors in enhancing social interactions. The effectiveness rate of the factors depends on various factors. The results showed that these three factors as the most important spatial features have a significant role.
