Redesigning of Public Spaces with an Emphasis on Increasing Identity

Public spaces are one of the most important elements of a city, and the general public uses every race, age and trade without any restrictions. Citizens need spaces that respond to their needs In fact, the people themselves are a city that, with all their unique tastes and characteristics, their urban identity and citizenship, make the city. attention to the low degree of identity and sense of attachment to public spaces, it has led to not paying much attention to these spaces and some public spaces on different urban scales lose their significance and role and Organizing these spaces is difficult. The purpose of this research is to analyze the extent of public space redevelopment in enhancing identity in public spaces at Shahid Bahonar Boulevard in Mashhad. The research method is descriptive and analytical and has been used for collecting information from library and documentary sources. The statistical population is the citizens of Mashhad 9th district. The sample size is estimated at 383 people using the Cochran formula and SPSS software has been used to analyze the data. The results of the research show that the redesign of this boulevard in Nowruz and turning this boulevard into the food street, has had a significant impact on the identity of this boulevard. This design has also led to a memorable boost in boulevard.
