Prediction of Urban Design Method Based on Social-Economic Features

Propounding theoretical challenges of methodology has become a part of conceptual literature in the urban design field. Despite the several decades of debate and analysis, disagreement on urban design procedure, whether from the epistemology point of view whether from methodology, illustrates that urban design procedure has been variable in the complex conditions of the contemporary city according to its natural and procedural challenges. This alteration requires a fundamental and explicit structure of endogenous and exogenous effective factors on urban design procedure that methodology to be conducted on its basis. This study with the purpose of preliminary establishing such like structure has analyzed a wide range of theories and studies on urban design field in the last hundred years by means of meta-analysis and chronologic method, library tools. The study concludes that in conceptual or epistemological endogenous factors: nature, scale, intervention scope and basic specialty, in the procedural or methodological endogenous factors: process, procedure, product and decision making and in exogenous factors scope: legal-management, social-political and economic-investment structures are the most important factors influencing urban design procedure.
