In this work, polyvinylpyrrolidone supported nano zirconium dichromate has been applied as a heterogeneous oxidant for selective oxidation of 2-methoxybenzyl alcohol to corresponding carbonyl compound, which is 2-methoxybenzaldehyde. Analysis of this polymeric reagent has showed that under mild conditions it is sufficient and effective for oxidation of 2-methoxybenzyl alcohol. Also from kinetic study, order of this oxidation reaction over heterogeneous nanocatalyst is investigated .
