Graphene, is a thin layer of pure carbon; an allotrope of carbon in the form of a two-dimensional, atomic-scale.
Layer of carbon atoms are tightly packed and bonded together in a hexagonal honeycomb lattice. It is the basic
structural element of other allotropes, including graphite, charcoal, carbon nanotubes and fullerenes. Raman
scattering were used to monitor reduction graphene oxide to graphene. Rama scattering result shows D (distorted)
mode shift towards higher wavenumbers with a decrease in intensity. While G (graphene) mode shift towards
lower wavenumbers with an increase in intensity after reduction of graphene oxide to graphene. This is an
indication of success in reduction of graphene oxide to graphene.
