Diabetes mellitus contain group of metabolic diseases that characterized with hyperglycemia due to insulin secretion impairment, insulin resistance or a combination of both of them. The pancreas secretes more insulin, if normal levels of insulin can not reduce blood glucose and store it in the tissues to be released later in the form of energy. Although some people this works, but in others the amount of extra insulin is still incapable of glucose into tissues, which glucose and insulin increase in blood. The condition known as insulin resistance will develop. Exercise plays a key role in the prevention and control insulin resistance, conditions with pre-diabetes, type II diabetes and other health problems related to diabetes. Improvement in fasting insulin and insulin resistance have been reported as a result of interval training with high intensity. The aim of this study was to investigate effect of six weeks aerobic training with hard intensity on glucose, insulin and insulin resistance in obese or overweight women. The research method was quasi-experimental. Twenty subjects were randomly assigned into hard intensity (90-80% of maximum heart rate) and control group. After the initial blood sampling at rest and fasting, subjects to do running exercise three times a week and blood sampling were takan agin at the end. Independent t-test was used for data analysis. The results showed that hard intensity exercise significantly reduced fasting insulin (P =0/03) compared to the control group. Exercise had no effect on plasma glucose concentration (P=0/34) and insulin resistance (P =0/16). The results is important for design exercise training programs to prevention and treatment of diabetes.
