International Society for Mushroom Science (ISMS) – An organization supporting the development of the global mushroom industry through science

ISMS was founded in 1950 to facilitate the two-way communication of information between scientists and mushroom producers. ISMS services include: a communication platform for the international mushroom industry (ISMS Congresses, website etc); facilitation of global/ multi-country research and development projects (eg global mushroom pathogen collection); risk and crisis management for the global mushroom industry if it comes under attack in the media; advocacy if the industry needs to make representations to Governments around the world or the United Nations. ISMS also seeks opportunities to promote the consumption of mushrooms through low key PR efforts and scientific underpinning of any product positioning.
