Though the concept of biodiversity conservation is rather new, systematic account and illustrations of natural history comprising wildlife and other organisms was first given by Aristotle as far back as 384-322 BC. The Scriptures of most religions also have illustrated availability and utility of various biological elements for the mankind. Many scientific literatures and books are also available on various aspects of biodiversity and its conservation
