On the intrusion of a sunspot penumbra into the umbra

Using spectro-polarimetric data recorded by Hinode observing AR​10923 on 15 November 2006, we study the magnetic structure of the region around a bundle of penumbral filaments intruding into a sunspot umbra. Obtaining direct inferences from polarization Stokes profiles as well as the results of SIR code, it seems that a harmonizing process is coordinating the magnetic field lines around the intruding penumbral filaments.
