تحليل محتواي كتاب هاي زبان انگليسي عمومي از نظر تئوري هوش هاي چندگانه گاردنر

A Content Analysis of General English Textbooks from the Perspective of Gardner s Multiple Intelligences Theory

با اعمال هوش هاي چندگانه در كتاب هاي درسي, مي توان علاوه برايجاد فرصت هايي يادگيري متناسب با هوش هاي غالب هر فرد, به تقويت ساير هوش ها پرداخت و فرايند يادگيري را بهبود بخشيد. پژوهش حاضر به بررسي محتواي پنج كتاب زبان عمومي دانشگاهي از لحاظ هوش هاي چندگانه گاردنر پرداخته است. اين كتاب ها كه عبارتند از: كتاب زبان عمومي پيام نور(General English), كتاب زبان عمومي از طريق خواندن (General English Through Reading), كتاب متون انتخابي (Select Readings), كتاب خواندن انگليسي عمومي (General English for Reading) و كتاب افكار و عقايد (Thoughts and Notions), با استفاده از چك ليست بوتلهو(Botellho,2003) مورد بررسي قرار گرفتند. نتايج اين بررسي نشان داد كه درتمام اين كتاب ها, سه نوع هوش زباني/كلامي, درون فردي و منطقي/رياضي غالب مي باشند وساير هوش ها يا به ميزان كمي وجود دارند (بين فردي, فضايي/تصويري و طبيعت گرا) و يا اصلا در محتواي كتاب ها گنجانده نشده اند(موسيقايي و بدني/ جنبشي). اين نتيجه نشان دهنده عدم توجه كافي مؤلفين به سايرهوش هاي چندگانه و تمركز زياد آنها بر اين سه نوع هوش مي باشد. از نتايج اين پژوهش مي توان در بازنگري كتاب هاي زبان عمومي و گنجاندن هوش هاي چندگانه در محتواي آنها استفاده كرد.

By employing multiple intelligences in textbooks each student can be provided with learning opportunities corresponding to his or her dominant intelligences. Also by promoting other intelligences their learning processes can be improved. The present study analyzed the content of 5 general English textbooks of university from the perspective of multiple intelligences theory. These books, namely General English of Payame Noor University General English through Reading Select Readings General English for Reading and Thoughts and Notions were analyzed using Botelho (2003) checklist. The results indicated that in all of these books three intelligences namely verbal linguistic intrapersonal and logical mathematical were dominant intelligences while other intelligences (interpersonal, visual spatial and naturalistic) were applied a little and some of them (musical and bodily kinesthetic) were not found in the textbooks contents. This finding shows lack of paying enough attention to other intelligences and focusing on only three ones. The results can be used in revising general English textbooks and employing multiple intelligences in their contents.
