Phenol is the most common and major organic pollutants which are highly toxic even at low concentrations in industrial effluents. It has dangerous effect, short term and long term, on human health. Several methods are used for removing phenol from Oil Refinery wastewater. In the present study attempt is done to survey of phenol removal by anaerobic stabilization pond method of Kermanshah Oil Refinery Wastewater. The result indicate that the average efficiency of anaerobic increase, 96 and 93% for 5 and 2 days respectively, when the phenol concentration decrease (50 mg L-1). These results showed that the retention time as well as phenol concentration affected anaerobic performance. The BOD, COD, pH parameters have been examined in this experimental study.
