Quantum dots has been employed in various fields including; solar cells, gas sensors, inks for FET transistors and antibacterial material for medical and biological applications. Several methods have been reported for synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles. In this study, sulfide nanopartcles were synthesized via combustion method for the first time. The effects of some parameters such as fuel/oxidant ratio and calcinations process on the structure and microstructure, were studied. XRD patterns showed that ZnO/ZnS nano particles with mean crystallite size of about 3-5 nm can be prepared. Moreover, synthesis with f:o ratio of 1 led to more crystalline particles. Calcination process at 400 and 500 °C caused to more crystallinty of powders. Microstructure analyses showed that synthesis with f:o ratio of 1 and calcined at 400 °C resulted agglomerated samples formed from the spherical nano particles.
