In this work, an investigation was conducted on the mathematical modeling and simulation of desulphurization of the butane stream containing CH3SH and H2S of the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company (Iran). Introducing in the NF unit of the company, by means of 13X zeolite in a fixed bed absorber. The behavior of the fixed bed absorber were modeled and the axial dispersion, intra and inter particle diffusion phenomena, that accounts for the influence of various parameters such as, the volumetric flow rate of the fees containing methyl mercaptan and hydrogen sulfide, the height of the bed, the inlet sulfur content of the feed and the mean particle diameter of the zeolite on the breakthrough curve were investigated. The modeling approach was verified by the plant data.
