A Practical Method for Determining the Optimum Intervals of Maintenance Test for Protective Systems in Actual Conditions of a Regional Electric Company

There is not a distinct time for maintenance test intervals of protective systems and engineers carry out these tests periodically, regardless of different conditions and parameters that can affect various the test. At the first this problem is analyzed and discussed. Usually MARKOV model is used for estimating optimum routine test intervals. But this model is infeasible for practical consideration; a new method is presented with actual conditions consideration of a regional electric company in this research. This method can involve all practical and real condition. This method is executed for a regional electric company for three years and the results are shown. Finally an economical analysis is presented.
