This paper presents numerical simulation of incompressible fluid flows in presence of a uniform transverse magneetic field. The governing equations of flow was Navier-Stokes equation coupled with Maxwell's equation of electromagnetics. In the present work, fully developed turbulent channel flow of mercury was modeled using open-source computational fluid dynamics, CFD package, OpenFoam. The modified turbulence model used by adapting standard k –
model and comparsion with experimental data to investigate the effect of magnetic field. Velocity profile and the effect of Hartmann number were studied in for hartmann (Ha) number of 71.9 and 189.21. in calculations, the low Reynolds number corrections of k –
model were used to provide accurate results when integrating through the viscous sub-layer.
