Application of Microbial Fuel Cellslls (MFCs) provides a new method to wastewater trea attmement with production of sustainable clean enerergy. Microbial fuel cells harvest the catabolic energy o off microbial colonies. The aim of this work wwas to study the effect of temperature, geometry on the performance of f a continuous MFC. To investigate these temperatures were 22°C, 30°C andnd 37°C and 0.5, 1, 2.5 and 3.5 ml/min for the flow-rarate. Three different geometry of the interface wwere tested as well. The tests showed that higher power pproduction was obtained at 37°C and flow-ratee o of 0.5 ml/min. The interface geometry presented signif fiicacant effect on the power generation. Organic mma atter removals (80% of influent BOD) were directly inffl uluenced by the studied parameters followed thhee same behavior as the power generation. At the flow-r arate higher than optimal one, anodic bacteria wwere affected and power generation ceased because oof reduced Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT).
