Sustainable development requires the development and promotion of
environmental management and a constant search for green technologies to treat a
wide range of aquatic and terrestrial habitats contaminated by increasing
anthropogenic activities. The aim of this work was to investigate the ability of
four previously isolated fungi in degradation of polycyclic (PAHs) and the effect
of UV irritation on fungi cell growth and degradation of PAHs. The ability of all
fungi in degradation of Anthracene were studied from liquid medium in shaking
flasks. Cell growth rate of different type were 0.03, 0.021, 0.02 and 0.01gr cell per
day respectively for BBRC 9057, BBRC 20020, BBRC 9058 and BBRC
9002.these Types degraded respectively 91, 60, 76 and 32 % of primary
anthracene in the mediume. BBRC 9057 was exposed to UV irritation for several
time durations. The ability of degradation of Aanthracene and cell growth of
BBRC 9057 didn’t increase in low concentration of Antracen, but cell groth and
it’s degradation increased 6.51 and 1.82 times rather than parental strain when
exposed to UV for 10 minutes.
