Vanadium oxide nanotubes (VNT) have drawn increasing attention as vanadium compounds may be used in a wide range of applications. In this research, one-dimensional nanostructures of vanadium oxide were synthesized by a hydrothermal treatment from V2O5 using dodecylamine as template. Some effective parameters on hydrolysis process such as solvent polarity and the time of hydrolysis have been studied. The products were characterized using XRD and SEM analyses to characterization of the nanostructure. The results showed the synthesized nanostructures in 25% v/v ethanol/water are multiwalled nanorods with 80–120 nm diameter and 1-4 μm length. Also it was observed the synthesized products in 50% v/v ethanol/water (48 hr hydrolysis) are open-ended multiwalled nanotube with inner diameter of 50–100 nm and outer diameter of 110–180 nm and 0.5-2 μm length. But samples synthesized in 75% v/v ethanol/water showed no regular nanostructure. It was also observed tha
