The central composite design (CCD) technique was used to study the effect of the peroxodisulfate oxidation on the decolorization and mineralize organic dye blue in aqueous solution. The initial concentrations of dye and potassium peroxodisulfate (K2S2O8) as well as pH value were the independent variables. A regression model was used to assess the influence of these independent variables on color removal. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the data and the regression model showed that K2S2O8 and pH had significant effects on color removal. Optimal operating conditions were established; dye concentration 12mg/l, [K2S2O8] = 1.7 mM and pH 4.
