Characterization and Demulsification of Crude Oil in Water Emulsion

Chemical demulsification is most famously applied in waste water treatment technology. In this method a chemical additives is used to accelerate the emulsion breaking. In this paper, emulsion stability characterized and observed that it depend on emulsification time and crude oil to water ratio. A set of experiments performed to study the effect of type of demulsifier, concentration of demulsifier and temperature on breaking of emulsion. Under specific condition, more than %70 separation was obtained.
