A one-pot synthesis of Au@Pd/PMo12/rGo nanohybrid with phosphomolybdic acid
(PMo12) as both reducing and stabilizing agent is presented. The synthesized nanohybrid
was characterized by high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron
microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis to fully
characterize the core-shell Au@Pd NPs on the rGo matrix. Electrochemical measurements
reveal outstanding catalytic activity of Au@Pd/PMo12/rGo for ethanol electro-oxidation in
an alkaline medium; this feature is discussed with relevance to its application in direct
alcohol fuel cells (DAFCs).
