Two simply supported reinforced concrete slabs have been built at the concrete laboratory of Sharif University of Technology. A cavity has been inserted inside each slab by placing a foam box. The slabs have been tested using forced vibration test where an impact hammer has been used to apply the external load. The acceleration of the slabs has been recorded based on which the FRFs and then the natural frequencies and damping have been determined. By analyzing the obtained data, conclusions have been drawn about the effect of cavity size on the results of impact hammer test.
