In this paper, mixed integer programing to reliability optimization problems with random fuzzy variables is presented. In this problem, component lifetimes are estimated by random fuzzy variables as some limitations of random lifetime’s assumption for component and the maximization of the system lifetime is used as a major type of system performance. Then, this reliability optimization problem is formulated as a random fuzzy programing model, and then solved using mixed integer programming and random fuzzy chance-constrained programming based on the idea of possibility theory. Finally, an illustrative numerical example is also solved to clarify the discussed method.
