Accurate prediction of wave specifications is essential for design of nearshore and offshore
structures and coastal engineering projects. This paper presents the numerical study of wave
hindcasting and propagation at Tombak area in central part of Northern Persian Gulf coastline in
Bushehr province. In this regard, firstly the offshore waves are hindcasted using the wind climate
of the area. Then, the wave propagation from offshore to near shore is numerically modeled by
using MIKE-NSW software. The results are compared with the available data in the area in order
to validate the results. The results of the wave model after validation are presented in terms of
horizontal distribution, statistical parameters and wave transformation coefficients from offshore
to near shore.
