چكيده فارسي :
Application of nano painting on the exterior walls of buildings was considered as a passive method aiming to reduce heating load. In this investigation, the data of energy consumption for heating of a residential building complex have been collected for eight years, during fall and winter. Also, a mathematical model was developed in order to calculate the amounts of required energy to maintain comfort temperature of 20℃. The proposed model was verified by the actual data. Comparison between the actual data of energy consumptions for both unpainted and painted conditions indicated that higher amounts of energy was needed for unpainted exterior surfaces. This can be described with the lower wetting ability of nano paint which was made it as a moisture barrier during humid/rainy times. In addition, the lower convective heat transfer coefficients of the air due to the smooth surface of the nano paint surface will reduce the heating load. Also, low enough thermal conductivity of nano paint (0.07 mm thickness, 0.075 (W/m℃)) was illustrated the effective multifunctional role of nano paint in reduction of heating load
