In this paper, we investigate quantum coherence
preservation of a single-qubit interacting with a zero temperature
thermal reservoir through the addition of non-interacting qubits
in the reservoir. Also, we extend this scheme to preserve quantum
entanglement between two distant qubits, each of which interacts
independently with separated reservoirs. It is observed that, as
the number of additional qubits in each reservoir becomes large,
the initial coherence and the entanglement are completely
protected in both Markovian and non-Markovian regimes.
