In this paper we present two classes of binary quantum codes based on self-dual orientable embeddings of complete graphs. These classes of codes suggest a more general construction of codes defined on the closed orientable surfaces. Every code achieves minimum distance 3 and its encoding rate is such that k/n→1 as n→ infinity
