the present work, a screen printed electrode modified with Co3O4 nanoparticles (Co3O4/SPE) was investigated for its ability to serve as a sensor towards cabergoline. The Co3O4/SPE was found to exhibit an electro-catalytic activity for the electrochemical oxidation of cabergoline in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution (pH 7.0). Cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry were employed to study the electrochemical properties of the modified electrode. The electrochemical oxidation of cabergoline occurs at +0.6 V with a limit of detection found to be 0.2 μM and with linear range of 1.0 μM to 70.0 μM. The prepared modified electrode showed high sensitivity, stability and good reproducibility in response to cabergoline, confirming its usability for the accurate determination of trace amounts of cabergoline in pharmaceutical and clinical preparations.
