Curcumin, is one of the very few promising natural products that has been extensively investigated by researchers from the biological point of view.
The low serum stability of curcumin has limited its clinical application. Flavonoid-polymer conjugates have been proposed for bio-medical applications with the aim to increase the stability of the antioxidant molecule prolonging its duration of action. In this work, curcumin-loaded dextran was prepared and antioxidant activity of it was tested by 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical method which indicates that inclusion of curcumin-loaded dextran may be useful in improving the bioavailability of hesperidin.
