Pyrroles are very important compounds as they exist in a large number of natural product and show a variety of biological and pharmacological effects. A diverse range of pharmacological properties,
Including antibacterial, antitumor, anti-infammatory, antioxidant, antianginal and antifungal activities of this important class of heterocycles has been reported in the literature [1-3]. Citric acid (2-hydroxy-1,2,3-propanetricarboxylic acid) is a weak organic acid of huge industrial importance. It was known as harmless to the environment and commercially available with stability toward humidity. The aim of the present work was to search simple and green method for the preparation of substituted pyrroles. Green synthesis, high yields of the products and reusability of the catalyst and free of formation of any hazardous by products are some of important advantages of this procedure.
